This year Mother’s Day will be different for all of us.
Nobody has cancelled writing a heartfelt letter and sending it by post. You can also surprise your mum with a home-baked cake left at her door, or with a beautiful bouquet delivered by local florists. Amid busy work duties and caring for children, it happens that young mums have even forgotten what a hot, freshly made coffee or a warm, relaxing shower feels like. Thinking about mums’ well-being, we have also thought of a way for you to delight your dear mums remotely – with gentle coconut–olive oil body soap and skin-softening, protective balms.
How was the Mother’s Day soap made?
Daija tells: “This is a very personal soap. While making it, I thought a lot about my mum and what we have been through together. In everyday life I forget that mum has always been the person who has supported me, no matter how crazy the ideas that come to my mind. She has always been the one who put her dreams aside to fulfil mine. I want to dedicate this soap to her and finally say that I can manage on my own and ‘Mum, it’s time to fulfil your dreams’. So I walked around my mum’s garden… monkey flowers, roses, angel’s trumpets, snapdragons… so much beauty… how to bring it all together… and a scent was born in which I combined ylang-ylang, bergamot and lavender essential oils, creating a new, untamed fragrance that is unobtrusively sweet but with a little edge. Just like my mum – beautiful, endlessly loving and warm-hearted, but if I ‘cook up some mischief’, she will make me understand what I’ve done with just a slightly sharp look.”
